Our Story
Experience. Quality. Passion.
WSR grew out of decades in the water and years on the workshop floor.
My story with surfing began in 1985, when I caught my first wave. Since then, surfing has been much more than a sport to me — it has become a passion and an important part of my life.
In 2013, I started working with resin and surfboard repairs. At first, it was simply a hobby. I repaired boards for friends and also helped at By Garagem, a surf shop where I repaired new boards that had been damaged during transportation before reaching the store. I did not charge — I simply enjoyed working with resin, finding solutions to damage and bringing a board back to a condition where it could return to the water.
From passion to professional experience
In 2017, I began my journey at F-Glass Surfboards in São Paulo, Brazil, a professional manufacturing facility specialising in lamination and production for a range of brands and shapers. F-Glass maintains a partnership with Surface, founded by renowned Brazilian shaper Luciano Leão, who gained worldwide recognition for developing the DSD — Digital Surf Design system and its shaping machine.
During four years at F-Glass I developed hands-on experience in lamination, construction, finishing and repairs. Brands produced included Lost, Arakawa, Xanadu, Simon Anderson, MG Surfboards, Joystick and Pukas — Simon Anderson, MG and Joystick being Australian brands.
F-Glass, Pukas and Gabriel Medina
F-Glass had a partnership with Pukas and shaper Johnny Cabianca, later internationally recognised for his work with Gabriel Medina. The boards used by Gabriel Medina were produced both at F-Glass in São Paulo and at Pukas in Zarautz, Spain — part of a special period in high-performance surfboard manufacturing, including his journey to his first world title.
More than techniques, I learned to understand a surfboard from its construction: how materials work together, how constructions respond to impact, and how to repair a board while respecting its original structure.
From São Paulo to Perth
My journey in the industry was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. After moving to Australia, including two years in Perth, I saw that many factories and surf shops don't offer repairs, or are limited in what they can do. That is how WSR — Wrobel Surfboard Repairs was born.
More than repairing a surfboard
Every board is different. Every repair is assessed individually, with attention to strength, structural integrity, finish and performance. It may be the board you saved for months to buy, the one that travelled the world with you, or simply the one that feels perfect under your feet.
Repair it properly. Get it back in the water.

Ready to get your board sorted?
Message WSR on WhatsApp with clear photos of the damage and you'll get an initial assessment.
